SPOT AS provides equipment and certified personnel for orbital welding of piping systems—where traditional use of compression fittings is not satisfactory due to space limitations or, more importantly, the risk of leakage, and where quality requirements are absolute.

Orbital welding is a method where pipes and components are machine-welded automatically, based on predefined parameters and fixed positioning. The result is a high-quality weld joint with exceptional internal and external surface quality—unmatched by any conventional welding method.

Advanced Orbital Welding – From Hospitals to Heavy Industry

Orbital welding is a highly cost-effective method for the fabrication of piping systems, equally well-suited for serial production in workshops as well as in the field. While this method has primarily been adopted by suppliers of central gas systems in hospitals and high-risk facilities, the pharmaceutical and food industries are now emerging as sectors that truly demand the quality and precision orbital welding provides.

SPOT AS is currently capable of performing orbital welding on pipes ranging from ¼" to 4" in diameter, using most relevant material grades, in accordance with both our own and customer-specified procedures. Several of our instrument pipefitters have the required training, certification, and experience for this type of work.
